Jacksons Religion

President Andrew Jackson religious affiliation was presbyterian. His religious beliefs as brought up by a presbyterian family. He had become increasingly religious and eventually went to the Presbyterian church in 1838. Jackson found no conflict between his religious views and strong support for the institution of slavery.

Jackson's Milatary Services

During the war of 1812 Jackson took command do military forces, but his mission was canceled. On his way back to Tennessee his soldiers noticed how tough he was and named him "Old Hickory". In 1814 during the Creek War Jackson and his military won a crushing victory at Horseshoe bend on Tallapoosa river. At that time Jackson was promoted to major-general. Two wars jackson has participated in was The Battle of New Orleans and the War of 1812.

Jackson's Childhood

Andrew Jackson's was the seventh president of the United States, he was born in the Waxhaws area near the border between North and South Carolina on March 15, of 1767. Andrew Jackson's parents lived in North Carolina but historians debate on which side of the state Andrew Jackson's birth took place. Andrew Jackson was the third child and third son of His father, also named Andrew, died as the result of a logging accident just a few weeks before the future president was born. Jackson's mother, Elizabeth ("Betty") Hutchison Jackson, was by all accounts a strong, independent woman. After her husband's death she raised her three sons at the South Carolina home of one of her sisters.

Introduction


Hello, my name is Andrew Jackson. I was born March 15th, 1767 in Waxhaw District, South Carolina. My parents are Andrew Jackson, and Elizabeth(Hutchinson) Jackson. I was in the military service, and served as a major general. I've also served in the U.S Congress, years 1796-1797, and the U.S Senate years 1823-1825. I became The President of The United States on, March 4th, 1829. I served two terms, my terms ended on March 3rd, 1837. My vice president was John. C Calhoun of South Carolina , and Martin Van Buren of New York. My nickname is "Old Hickory". I married a woman named Rachel(Donelson) Robards, in 1791. We didn't have any children on our own. We adopted 10 children, Andrew Jackson, Jr. , Lyncoya Jackson, JohnSamuel Donelson, Daniel Smith Donelson, Andrew Jackson Donelson, Andrew Jackson Hutchings, Carolina Butler, Eliza Butler, Edward Butler, and Anthony Butler. My religion is Presbyterian, but I am an American. I'm 61 years old and dead. I died on June 8th, 1845, Hermitage, Nashville, Tennesse.
